How the mobile call-out works

It’s deliberately simple, because the last thing you need when you’re stranded is a runaround:

• You call us on 0161 399 4859 and tell us where you are and what’s happened.
• We confirm the tyre size and availability while you’re on the phone — if we’ve got the right tyre, we head out.
• We come to you — your driveway, the kerbside, a car park or wherever you’ve safely stopped.
• We fit and balance on location, check your pressures, and you’re back on the road.

If a mobile fit isn’t the right call — say the wheel itself is damaged, or it’s a size we’d need to order — we’ll tell you honestly and sort the best option, which might be recovering the car to our Crumpsall workshop instead.

What to have ready when you call

Having a couple of things to hand means we can help you faster and turn up with the right tyre first time:

• Your tyre size — the numbers on the sidewall, e.g. 225/45 R17. Read it off the good tyre on the same axle if you can.
• Your locking wheel nut key — if your car has locking nuts (most do), we physically cannot remove the wheel without it. It’s usually in the glovebox, boot or with the spare.
• Your exact location — a postcode, what3words, or a clear landmark.
• A safe place to stop — off a live carriageway, hazards on, with room to work around the car.

• Call us out if you’ve a flat on the driveway, you’re pulled over with a blowout, the tyre’s destroyed, or you simply can’t get the car to us.
• Come in to Crumpsall if the car is still safe to drive, you want a full set fitted on our workshop kit, or you’re buying new alloys — that’s a workshop job with free fitting.
• Don’t drive on it if the sidewall is shredded, the tyre is off the rim, or the car is pulling badly — that’s when a call-out is the safer choice.

If the tyre is shredded, off the rim, or the car is pulling badly, no — driving on it can wreck the alloy and is unsafe. That’s exactly when to call us out. If the car is still safe to drive, coming in to the workshop is fine.

Can you fit a tyre on the road or only on a driveway?

Either, as long as you’ve stopped somewhere safe and off a live carriageway. Driveways, car parks and safe kerbsides are all fine. We’ll always put safety first when we assess where you are.
